Yes – browsing, contributing, and using the community map are totally free. Some premium features may be introduced later, and listing fees apply for promoted spots by businesses or landowners.
Rooftop Spots is a community-powered map and directory of places where rooftop tent owners have stayed. Whether it’s a wild spot, layby, car park, or campsite, it’s designed to help you find new, unique locations recommended by real people – not tourist boards.
Anyone! If you’ve got a rooftop tent and you’ve found a great place to stay, hit “Add Listing” and share it. You can upload photos, leave tips, and even get featured on the leaderboard.
Nope – it’s for all types of stays. Wild spots, legal overnight parking, private land you’ve stayed on, and campsites that welcome rooftop tents. If you slept there and want others to know about it, post it!
You can browse the map without signing up, but to post locations, upload images, leave reviews, or get on the leaderboard, you’ll need to create a free account.

Most are user-submitted, so always use common sense, check reviews, and obey local laws. If you see outdated info or issues with a spot, please flag it.
It’s a fun way to recognise our most active community members. Earn points by submitting spots, leaving reviews, uploading photos, and helping the site grow.

Totally up to you. If it’s a truly secret gem, you’re under no obligation. But even just sharing a general area or nearby spot helps the community grow.
